In January 2018, I had the pleasure of speaking with Donna Carol Voss, in her own words, “a Berkeley grad, a former pagan, a Mormon on purpose, and an original thinker on twenty-first-century living.” She hosts “Nothing to Apologize For,” a show where she makes no apologies for talking about the down-and-dirty of politics, religion and sex. She interviewed me about the latter two, religion and sex, as they relate to my new book, Love is Complicated: A Memoir of Healing. I am reposting the interview, given that I now have a contract for the book to be published by Mango in Summer 2020.

Well done interview about important choices in life.
So much to ponder from this interview. It is the authenticity in admitting that we are broken that brings healing. I love this thought, and the hope it gives. Thank you, Marlena! I look forward to reading your memoir.
Thanks, Ruth. So true, what you say. One of my biggest challenges is to keep bringing myself over and over again, as authentically as I am able, to the process of healing. To stop doing so risks slipping into what I quoted in an earlier blog: “Yesterday’s transformation is today’s ego trip and tomorrow’s relapse.”
Marlena! I love hearing more and more of your story. I’m still so fascinated and cannot wait for your book to hit store shelves. This was an awesome interview. Keep me posted on your release date. I agree with Donna Carol Voss–you are captivating.
Thank you, Linda. You, your story, your publishing journey, have all been (and continue to be) an inspiration for me!
