As we move into the height of the holiday season, we are often told to remember and cherish our numerous blessings. Appreciate what you have and give back when you can.
This sentiment, while good-natured and compassionate, lacks the driving force of what we really can give to those in need: direct action.
This week I shared a video detailing the stigma and prejudice faced by Amalia de Ayala, a Paraguayan dwarf with leprosy, as described in our new book, CALLED. If you haven’t seen it, I invite you to take a look and see the kind of direct actions that can be taken to fight stigma and prejudice, wherever they may be found.
More than charity, we need to stand arm-in-arm with those in need, for together, we are mighty.
