How do we overcome life’s challenges? What prompts us to initiate change? And what makes some of us choose to reveal all of this in writing?
On December 18th, I had the privilege of joining Nita Sweeney for a conversation titled Brave Women: Revelatory Memoirs, hosted by the San Francisco chapter of the Women’s National Book Association
Nita and I discussed a wide range of topics, including the challenges that we have both faced in our lives, how we initially approached them, and eventually overcame them. We also discussed the writing process behind my book Nothing Bad Between Us and Nita’s book Depression Hates a Moving Target.
I sincerely hope that our conversation encourages each of us to more fully embrace life’s challenges as gifts from which can we learn and grow.

Remembering to embrace life’s challenges as gifts is a great reminder for me in these years when many of us are faced with more challenges than we might have chosen.
