This week’s podcast and blog have been about service as a path to becoming our truest selves.
We had the great privilege of living on an exquisite property along the McKenzie River for nearly 17 years. During that time, we hosted many friends, family members – even youth groups we didn’t know personally, who came for an outward bound experience.
We called it our River House.
Three years ago, we sold our River House, and two weeks ago, a raging wildfire tore through it, leaving behind only a chimney surrounded by mangled roofs.
On Sunday we visited it to say our goodbyes – again – this time for good.
Saying goodbye for good was sad and confusing followed by days of emotional turbulence. And yet the memories remain of our time there sharing the beauty with family and friends. It was a privilege.
