Ed and I Walking in Silence
Here are two of my favorite quotes about “silence,” which has been the topic of this week’s blogs:
The first one offers a place for our soul to lie down and notice that the world is too full to talk about. We need this place today more than ever, don’t we?
“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing
and rightdoing there is a field.
I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass
the world is too full to talk about.”
― Rumi
The second is another quote about silence, but it also introduces next week’s topic, which is about healthy intimate relationships. Stay tuned for a lot more about this next week!
“I don’t want to be married just to be married. I can’t think of anything lonelier than spending the rest of my life with someone I can’t talk to, or worse, someone I can’t be silent with.”
― Mary Ann Shaffer, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
