August 26, 1943 – my dad on the left and my mom on the right – the day after their wedding, at the Newton, Kansas train depot, on their way to Paraguay, South America. Little did they know, on that day, what the map of their future held!

Poet and philosopher John O’Donohue left behind a remarkable body of writing about spirituality and Celtic mysticism. Regarding our destiny, this week’s podcast topic, he wrote:

“All the possibilities of your human destiny are asleep in your soul. You are here to realize and honor these possibilities.
Your soul knows the geography of your destiny. Your soul alone has the map of your future. Therefore, you can trust this indirect, oblique side of yourself. If you do, it will take you where you need to go, but more important it will teach you a kindness of rhythm in your journey.”

I think Dr. Stephen G. Post, my guest on this week’s podcast, would agree with this!
